The City Council of the City of Apple Valley is the appointing authority for the City of Apple Valley. All offers of employment are contingent upon approval by the City Council.

Appointments are subject to successful completion of an established probationary period.

Background Investigation
Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation which may include any combination of the following:
  • Criminal history check 
  • Driving record check
  • Verification of employment history, education, and references
  • Physical examination 
  • Drug test 
  • Credit check
