The Public Works Department is flushing hydrants to ensure they are operational and to purge any rusty or stagnant water from the water mains. Crews begin flushing near the water treatment plant and work out to the ends of the distribution system. Flushing should be completed by October 24 and hydrants requiring maintenance will then be repaired.
