In all districts, lighting shall not be directed into any adjoining property or public streets. All sources of light should be hooded or controlled in some manner so as not to light adjacent property. Mitigating measures such as shields, lenses, louvers, or controls on height and type of fixtures should be employed to protect neighboring parcels and to maintain traffic safety on public roads. If necessary to reduce impact of lighting on the surrounding neighborhood the City may also limit the hours of operation.
In Residential Districts any light or combination of lights that cast light on adjacent residential property shall be designed to eliminate reflected glare and spill light and to shield direct view of the light source at the property line.
To determine compliance with applicable lighting requirements, the City may also require the submission of a light distribution plan in some cases.
