[ARCHIVED] ADA Transition Plan OPEN HOUSE - November 27th from 6-7 pm at the City Hall Council Chambers


An Open house meeting is being held to provide an opportunity for the public to share insights on challenging situations experienced by handicapped individuals when using pedestrian facilities within the public right of way in the City of Apple Valley.

The City of Apple Valley is preparing a formal transition plan to meet its ADA obligations for program accessibility under the Department of Justice’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II regulations 28 CFR Part 35.150 for pedestrian facilities located within the public roadway right of way. The City of Apple Valley must ensure that services, programs, and activities, when viewed in their entirety, are accessible to people with disabilities.  While the City has made considerable progress in ensuring accessibility for pedestrian facilities within the public right of way since the inception of the ADA in 1990, the preparation of a formal transition plan will provide momentum for continued accessibility improvements.
