The Apple Valley Police Department is again offering a Citizens Police Academy starting Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
The 2012 Citizens Academy is open to anyone 18 years of age or older who either lives or works in Apple Valley and who has not attended the Apple Valley Citizens Academy within the last five years. The eight week course runs Tuesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting April 3, 2012 and culminating on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Apple Valley Police Firing Range. Topics for the course include DWI's, K9, Drug Task Force, Crime Scene Investigation, Criminal Charging, Use of Force and much more. Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check. Registration deadline is Friday, March 23, 2012.
