Do you have items for disposal accumulating around the house, garage, or yard? Visit the Fall Clean-up this Saturday, September 28th from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Apple Valley Family Aquatic Center at 14421 Johnny Cake Ridge Road.

Take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of unused items around your house and yard this weekend.

Items accepted:

  • Old appliances
  • Tires
  • Scrap metal
  • Mattresses
  • Box springs
  • Furniture
  • Carpet
  • Carpet padding
  • Home remodeling debris
  • Document destruction.

Items not accepted:

  • Pesticides
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Fluorescent bulbs

  • Car batteries
  • Yard waste
  • Business waste
  • Railroad ties

Electronics and hazardous waste will be accepted for free at the Burnsville Maintenance facility, 13713 Frontier Court, from 9 am to 2 pm with a $10 fee for TV’s and Computer monitors. Patrons must provide proof of Apple Valley residency.  Cash and checks payable to the City of Apple Valley will be accepted for items requiring disposal fees.

This is a great alternative to the increasingly common use of temporary refuse receptacles typically placed at the curb for collection by licensed hauling contractors.  Timely removal of such receptacles is sought by the city when used.
