Ordinance Proposal: Amending Chpt 71 Regulating Off-Street Parking

Ordinance Proposal: Amending Chpt 71 Regulating Off-Street Parking

Summary:  The following proposed ordinance amendment is part of a group of amendments creating provisions in the City code to allow for large Special Events, and Mobile Food Units to operate within the City as part an event. Due to the nature of events they impact several sections of code, from the zoning and signage, to roadways and solicitors. Each of these amendments are interrelated and have been reviewed by the City in conjunction with one another as they would not be applicable without the other ordinances.

Chapter – 71 Parking – The proposed ordinance allows Commercial, Industrial, or Institutional properties to store up to 3 passenger or one non-passenger vehicles on a property when integrally tied to the principal business on the property. Examples include catering vans, service vehicles, and trucks for hauling equipment.
