[ARCHIVED] How to ensure your winter boat storage is compliant with City Ordinances!

Boat on lake at sunset

Are you thinking about winter storage options for your boat? Please remember that motorized vehicles including boats stored on trailers must be parked on approved hard surface such as concrete, asphalt, or pavers regardless of the season.

Motorized boats may not be stored in your yard unless they are parked on an approved hard surface.  Approved hard surfaces include concrete, asphalt, or pavers.  Boats may be stored in a garage, shed or similar storage building, the established driveway, or on an approved hard surface elsewhere on the property, but not on the public street between the hours of 3-6 a.m.  When stored in front yards all recreational vehicles and trailers must be stored on the established driveway.

Please contact Apple Valley Code Enforcement by phone at: 952.953.2571; or by email at: for more information regarding recreational vehicle parking or to report concerns in your area.
