Ensure you are prepared for the cold temperatures this winter. All building systems, including furnaces and other heating system elements, should be maintained in proper working order and capable of performing the function for which they are designed.
Furnaces and other heating system elements should be properly maintained in working order and functional condition. CenterPoint Energy recommends regularly scheduled maintenance by a qualified mechanical contractor of your furnace to ensure a long life as well as safe & efficient operation of the appliance. If you have not had your furnace inspected or serviced recently you might consider scheduling a preventative maintenance service with a professional to help prevent a failure during winter’s cold temperatures.
Now is also a good time to remember that residential dwellings must have properly functioning smoke alarms in each sleeping room and carbon monoxide alarms within 10 feet of all sleeping rooms. According to FEMA fires occur during winter months more than any other time of year.
