[ARCHIVED] Non-passenger vehicles may service, but should not be stored in residential neighborhoods!

Food Truck on street

To maintain quality residential neighborhoods, non-passenger vehicles are prohibited in residential districts unless loading, unloading, or otherwise rendering a service.

Non-passenger vehicles are defined as motor vehicles, over 8 feet in height or over 22 feet in length, vehicles with a one ton or more carrying capacity, or any vehicles or trailers not customary or incidental to the use or occupancy of residential properties. The types of vehicles specifically prohibited include: dump trucks, step vans, cargo trucks, tow trucks, semi-trailer tractors, boom trucks, tank trucks, hearses, food trucks, and similar such vehicles. Non-passenger vehicles may not be parked anywhere in a residential district unless loading, unloading or rendering a service. This restriction applies to both public streets as well as private property in residential districts. Recreational vehicles are exempt from this requirement.

If you have questions or concerns regarding non-passenger vehicle requirements or to report a concern in your neighborhood please contact Apple Valley Code Enforcement by phone at 952.953.2570; or by email at codeenforce@ci.apple-valley.mn.us.
