Due to the increased fire danger conditions and restrictions enacted by the Minnesota DNR, the City Council passed a resolution banning all recreational fires until there is snow amounting to two (2) inches or more of accumulation or December 31st.
In response to the increased fire danger conditions in the City of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota, and restrictions enacted by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources effective Sunday, October 7, 2012, the Apple Valley City Council has passed a resolution banning all recreational fires until there is a snow fall amounting to two (2) inches or more of accumulation or December 31, 2012, whichever occurs first. This ban applies to recreational fires as the term is defined in the Apple Valley City Code, Section 93.31.
The resolution provides the Apple Valley Fire and Police Departments with the authority to extinguish or order extinguished any fires in violation of this ban under Apple Valley City Code, Section 93.32(E).
