[ARCHIVED] Theft from Vehicle Prevention

The Apple Valley Police have responded to 28 reports of theft from vehicles in the last two weeks. We need your help to combat this crime.

Please be advised that until the weather gets real cold we are still seeing a lot of car prowling at night. Take extra precautions to be sure to park your vehicles in your garage if you have one available, lock your vehicle doors and remove all valuables. If you park outside, park in well lit areas. Secure any valuables in the trunk before you reach your destination if you are parking and leaving your vehicle for an extended period of time. Most of the theft reports taken over the past two weeks indicated that vehicle doors were left unlocked.

Thefts from vehicles can be prevented by following these simple tips. Remember to watch out for your neighbors and call 911 if you see anything suspicious in your neighborhood. Thank you.
