In the last month, the Apple Valley Police Department has received five reports of residential burglaries on the east side of the city.
The Police have responded to five reports of residential, night time, burglaries since the end of January, 2013. In most incidents, the front doors of unoccupied residences have been kicked in to gain entry. The suspects have taken various items including electronics, jewelry, purses and wallets. Please talk to your neighbors about these recent burglaries and be aware of any suspicious activity in your neighborhood. Call 911 to report suspicious activity right away. If you know of homes that are vacant in your neighborhood, keep a close eye on them and contact the home owner to make them aware of these recent events. Keep outdoor lights on from dusk until dawn and encourage your neighbors to do the same. If you have an alarm system, make sure to use it. Residential burglaries can happen anywhere at any time, be vigilant in protecting your home by locking doors and windows always and making sure your garage doors are secure.
