[ARCHIVED] Right-of-Way Obstructions!

The use of public right of way areas, without first obtaining a right of way permit from the City, for staging or storage of construction material or equipment is prohibited and considered a public nuisance.

The use of streets, public sidewalks or the grassy boulevard areas back of curb, known as the public right of way areas, without first obtaining a right of way permit from the City, is not allowed. Staging or storage of construction material or equipment is prohibited and considered a public nuisance.

When planning for your landscaping, remodeling, or home addition project this summer please ensure right of way areas surrounding your property are maintained free of obstructions. Street, sidewalk, and boulevard areas may not be used by property owners or contractors as staging areas for storage of equipment or materials except as allowed for by city permit. Materials such as junk concrete from driveway replacements, landscaping boulders, dirt, wood, or other construction/landscaping material may not be stored in right of way areas even short term. Bobcats, table saws, ladders, and other equipment and machinery are also prohibited. Exceptions are provided for excavations in connection with the installation of mailboxes, irrigation systems, and trees. Property owners and contractors should make use of available space on private property when possible.
