Ensure you are prepared for the cold temperatures this week. All building systems, including furnaces and other heating system elements, should be maintained in proper working order and capable of performing the function for which they are designed.
Furnaces and other heating system elements should be properly maintained in working order and functional condition. The Minnesota State Building Code calls for interior spaces intended for human occupancy to be provided with heating systems capable of maintaining a minimum indoor air temperature of 68° F at a point 3 feet above the floor. CenterPoint Energy recommends regularly scheduled maintenance by a qualified mechanical contractor of your furnace to ensure a long life as well as safe & efficient operation of the appliance. If you have not had your furnace inspected or serviced recently you might consider scheduling a preventative maintenance service with a professional to help prevent a failure during this week’s cold temperatures.
