Over the past two months the Apple Valley Police have seen an increase in commercial burglaries. On July 27 a commercial business was entered by breaking a window on an adjacent vacant business then breaking a second window to enter the victim business and cash was taken. On August 7 another business was entered by prying a door and cash was stolen. Recently another business was entered and cash was stolen. All burglaries happened overnight and were discovered by employees the following morning.
By following these prevention tips, you could avoid becoming a victim of a burglary: check to make doors are secure before closing up fo the night, make any cash deposits each night to reduce the amount of cash on hand at the business, secure cash draw change in a secure location overnight, keep security lighting on in the business overnight, be sure to have adequate security lighting outside the business, report all suspicious activity to the Police, get to know neighboring businesses and keep an eye on each other.
