 Things to know before you go to the Apple Valley Family Aquatic Center

 Supervision required.  
All children under 5 years of age or any non-swimmer with or without a lifejacket must be within arm's reach of a parent or guardian at all times while in the water. 

 Who can ride? 
You must be 42" tall to ride the body slides and 48" tall to ride the tube slides. Eyeglasses and sunglasses must be securely held by riders. No lifejackets are allowed on slides. To avoid collisions and injuries children may not be caught coming out of the slides or off the diving board. 

 Who can enter on their own?

Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 16 years of age or over. No more than 3 children under 5 years of age per parent or guardian. 
 
 What about bad weather?

The Aquatic Center will be closed if the temperature is 65 degrees or below or during inclement weather. This includes lightning and thunder, high winds, heavy rain, and poor air quality of AQI 200 or above. Call 952-953-2399 for the latest information on weather-related closings.

 What can we bring?

Please no glass or similar material with a tendency to shatter upon impact in the Aquatic Center, with the exception of prescription eyeglasses.  Also, no smoking, alcohol, or gum is permitted in the Aquatic Center. Feel free to bring a cooler, food and drink (again no glass) and a chair of your own if you wish. And remember, only Coast Guard Approved Lifejackets are allowed. No other floats or toys please.  No masks, snorkels or fins are allowed.

Rental Information
The Apple Valley Family Aquatic Center with a capacity of 1600 is available for exclusive use rentals outside of regular operating hours. Group Reservations are also available during regular operating hours.

Swim Lessons

Parents Be Advised
In case of inclement weather, parents are strongly encouraged to pick up their children from outdoor facilities.  Children will be allowed to stay at the facility until picked up, however shelter space is limited.


Water Walking - (weather permitting)
Minimum age 12 (no spectators under aged 12)

  • Monday through Sunday  9:30 am to 10:30 am
  • Monday through Friday 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
  • No evening Water Walking July 4th to facilitate Freedom Days Celebration parking.
  • $5 per person per session
